The hush puppies are perfection and the fried chicken livers fabulous. Do stop on in..... Christmas Eve will be a treat. Bon appetite
love the chicken and the sides! i got okra and fried rice the ladies are very sweet and it can take some time to get your food so you gotta be a little patient.
It had been over 30 years since I have eaten at Maryland fried Chicken, but that drought was about to end. Is the chicken as good as I remember it? Did they fool with the recipe? Will I be sadly disappointed at the fowl of my youth? I was not. I ordered the two breast with two sides meal and tore that up like I had not eaten in a week. The chicken was juicy. The skin was crispy. It was everything I had remembered it to be. In a world of unending change, it seems, it's amazing what food can do for the soul. No masks required but are encouraged. Stay safe.
I stumbled upon this chicken joint after a local insider raved about it, claiming it served up the most finger-licking fried chicken in town. Being just a stone's throw away, I couldn't resist putting their claim to the test. Located on the east side of US one, right smack in the east-northeast of the curve, this joint caught my eye with its former KFC/Burger King/Taco Bell vibes. Not a car in sight at the drive-through, though, so who knows if they even have one? Stepping inside, I was greeted by a bustling crowd of about eight people waiting in line. Part of me considered bailing, but the tantalizing aroma of the chicken kept me rooted. The service was a mix of sluggishness and swiftness, probably because they had to whip up a fresh batch of chicken. When my turn finally came, it took less than two minutes to place my order and get my grub. Can't say that's slow; it was practically lightning-fast. One thing I noticed is that they do a roaring takeout business, more than dine-in. The joint itself has seen better days, but what about the food? I opted for the three-piece meal, featuring a succulent breast, a tantalizing thigh, and a scrumptious chicken wing. I also went for the classic combo of baked beans and mashed potatoes with gravy as my sides. First up was the thigh. With just one bite, my taste buds went wild with sheer deliciousness. It was piping hot, incredibly moist, and bursting with flavor. After polishing it off, I seriously contemplated ordering another ten. Next on the menu was the chicken wing. I wouldn't say this is the place to go for wings, but they were decent enough. And then it was time for the grand finale: the breast. Ah, there's nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a plump, juicy breast. As I reached for it, though, it was so scorching hot that it singed my fingers. But the moment I sank my teeth into it, my mouth was flooded with an explosion of savory juices. It remained juicy and piping hot till the very last bite. These breasts were no small fry; they were delightfully plump. The breading on the chicken was crispy and delectable, but as with any fried chicken, it left behind a bit of greasy residue. I must say, they outshine KFC, Popeyes, and any other fast food chicken joint. So, would I recommend you give it a go? Absolutely, but be prepared to exercise some patience.
